The following profiles represent some of the major initiatives from both the public and private sectors. Deltao consistently receives praise for its quality work and extreme attention to detail.
| Government Solutions - Profile 1 Sensitive and important data had to be encrypted and transported through firewalls via an intricate web of redundant tunnels. The tunnels needed to seamlessly failover, as high-availability was a priority. IPSEC encryption, NAT timers, and route statements had to be in sync across several firewalls and tunnel endpoints. |

Result:
The design solution employed numerous workarounds to accommodate stringent
security requirements. Some of these obstacles included: circumventing complex
fragmentation issues within several encapsulated tunnels, elaborate NATing
to accommodate redundancy requirements and promote symmetric routing through
the tunnels, and altering various timers for efficient failover. The project
was a resounding success. This was a high-visibility project. The result was
extremely positive, and the customer experienced commendations from the highest
technical levels.

Government Solutions - Profile 2 A major government entity had to prepare the facility for network high availability and VoIP. The LAN switching environment was a mixed-vendor solution with no copper connectivity (100% fiber). Interoperability between Cisco and Extreme presented a challenge, especially when dealing with HSRP and Spanning-tree. |
Result:
A detailed network assessment was required to present the differences in how
each vendor deals with the network protocols. The facility used the assessment
and recommendations document to clear up several “bumps in the road”
on a project that caused previous delays and challenges.
Enterprise Solutions – Profile 1 Deltao performed network assessments for a 20,000-person organization. This effort focused on a critical project recognized by Congress and the Homeland Security Department. The assessment revealed core network problems at layer 2 and at layer3. |

Result:
This effort led to a design which included a strategic plan for reducing inconsistencies
in the core as well as increasing OSPF stability. The assessment also suggested
BGP recommendations for geographically separated ISP’s as well as growth
plans for adding additional data centers, an MPLS infrastructure, and optimizing
QoS for their current VoIP and VPN design.

Enterprise Solutions - Profile 2 A manufacturing facility required a new VoIP phone system. Much of the current network equipment was outdated and had multiple vendors. The customer wanted the new phone system in place, but did not want to buy additional network gear. |
Result:
The new Cisco phones and Call Manager were installed with minimal downtime.
The dialing-plan, route structure, and front-desk attendants had to be completely
designed from scratch in order to accommodate “like functionality”
from the old phone system to the new. This project included a dial-plan design,
Call Manager redundancy, Unity installation, ICS-7750 configuration, and 100
IP phones configured over a 3Com switching network. Some of the interconnections
and configuration had to be improvised to accommodate the integration with
their old LAN switches, factory floor loudspeaker system, and night ring capability.
